We hold global silent retreats to raise money for causes that empower women.

Right now, our focus is supporting young women being rescued from the Sexual Slavery industry in Kolkata, India.

Our next Silent Seva Retreat is

January 23 - 27, 2018

at Punta Mona near Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica

Shakti Seva Incorporated was created by a community of fiercely passionate yoginis.

We are a sociopolitical movement committed to being a driving force for loving change in the world. Inspired by the mission of awakening and empowering the divine feminine through socially-engaged transformation intensives, this non-profit organization supports projects that serve women and children around the world.

It is based on this fundamental idea: that yoga communities – wherever they are found – can and should channel the teachings and principles of yoga to create positive social change beyond the mat. Shakti Seva makes this vision a reality by hosting Silent Seva Retreats, each of which consists of a 5-day vow of complete silence for a cause.

But Why Is It Called “Shakti Seva”?

Why “Shakti Seva”? “Shakti” is the creative force of the divine feminine that manifests change, and “Seva” is selfless service. The union of these two concepts – expressed in Shakti Seva – represents, at heart, the spirit with which we seek to spark an uprising of socially-conscious activism. For we believe that even a small number of people – properly directing and focusing their efforts – can shake and shape the world.
